This is the direct route from Aberystwyth and the new Bow Street railway station to the outlying villages of Tal-y-bont, Ta;iesin and Tre'r Ddol. There is a shared use path that extends alongside the A487 from the outskirts of Tal-y-bont but that stops at the lay-by at Coed Dolgau about 1 km away from Rhydypennau. This section of the A487 trunk road is very dangerous for vulnerable road users due to it being a national speed limit with high hedges and corners. Creating a cyclepath and pavement along this stretch would provide a safe route for people from Tal-y-bont to be able to access Bow Street village services and the new station using Active Travel.
