Steep hill into and out of Tal-y-bont without a pavement or cyclepath. There is a cyclepath at the exit of the village but for travelling north users have to cross the trunk road at a location where southbound vehicles are accelerating out of the village and northbound are at the end of a fast national speed limit stretch. Cyclists and walkers, even those who live on the hill are at risk due to the speed vehicles enter the village and the impatience of those stuck behind cyclists going up the hill.
